Joe D'Amato started his career writing advertising copy for a fabric producer, Wamsutta Mills. This experience led him to his career as a novelist. To him, writing fiction is more rewarding than the length of hemlines.

Seeds of the Lemon Grove, not only was the opening volume of his Mafia trilogy, but it was his opening into the world of John Gotti and Lucky Luciano. The research that he did for this trilogy gave him access to many adventures that he may otherwise not have had. One of which, is his very popular Sicilian food blog, This food blog allowed him to share the pallet of the culture he had grown so close with.

Currently, Joe D'Amato lives north of Cincinnati in the village of Glendale, with his wife Linda and [her] dog Emma. He has two children, Laura and Joe.

Along with being a novelist he has also been successful at writing plays. He has written two plays, one of which Christmas with Anton received a Writer’s Digest Screenplay award. This play was so well written and popular that It was performed at the Aronoff Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
